Software Test Engineer

We are currently looking on behalf of one of our important clients for a Software Test Engineer. The role is a permanent position based in Bern Canton & comes with some home office flexibility.

Your Role:

• Plan & execute software tests as a part of embedded software development, ensuring thorough coverage of functionality & performance.
• Create comprehensive test specifications & implement corresponding module, function & system tests.
• Set up & maintain test rigs & ensure that they are optimized for efficiency & reliability.
• Expand test automation capabilities to enhance the efficiency & effectiveness of testing procedures.
• Collaborate closely with other R&D teams to align testing efforts with project goals & milestones.

Your Skills & Experience:

• From 2 to 7 years of relevant professional experience as a Software Tester, Test Engineer or Developer.
• A strong understanding of Software Testing principles & methodologies.
• Skilled & experienced in Python & Git.
• Experience with Project & Requirements Management tools.
• Ideally familiar with Jenkins, Gitlab CI & Pytest & Unittest frameworks.
• Any experiences in the areas of Test Automation & Embedded Software are considered a plus.

Your Profile:

• Completed University Degree, ideally in the area of Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or similar.
• Ideally an ISTQB Certified Tester.
• Detailed, analytical & quality-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
• Fluent in English (spoken & written), German or French language skills are considered very advantageous.
