IT Network Engineer

We are currently looking on behalf of one of our important clients for an IT Network Engineer. This role is a permanent position based in Basel Canton.

Your Role:

• Collaborate in the operation & further development of the network core fabric & network access (routing, switching) based on Extreme Networks & Cisco.
• Carry out conceptual work, design & architecture in the area of LAN.
• Implement & hold responsibility for the lifecycle of the switching infrastructure, in which an old Cisco-based LAN infrastructure is replaced by a new LAN infrastructure based on Extreme Networks.
• Develop automation to simplify the network operation & network services.
• Participate in the 2nd level service, including monitoring, request fulfillment & incident & problem management.
• Collaborate with external service providers.

Your Skills:

• At least 3 years of relevant professional experience as a Network Engineer.
• Strong technical knowledge & troubleshooting skills.
• Experienced in Network protocols & standards & routing & switching.
• Skilled in managing LAN network infrastructure in large environments.
• Ideally experienced in Extreme Networks Switches (VSP, Exos, Fabric Connect).
• Any experience in Management Systems (XMC/XIQ) is considered a plus.
• Preferably knowledgeable in NAC.

Your Profile:

• Completed University Degree or training in the field of Computer Science or similar.
• Structured & solution-oriented.
• Fluent in English (spoken & written), any German language skills are considered highly advantageous.
